Wicked Weather as tornado sweeps Texas

One person was killed in a tornado that touched down in Texas and heavy rain and hail hit parts of Oklahoma and Kansas on Saturday as tropical storm Ana closed in on North and South Carolina.

The fire chief in the North Texas town of Cisco said homes have been damaged and one person has been killed after the tornado swept through the rural and ranching area.

Chief Walter Fairbanks had no other details early Saturday evening. Damage was reported after the tornado hit Saturday afternoon in Eastland County.

In other areas of the country, hail and flooding hit Colorado on Saturday and snow is expected to strike Nebraska and South Dakota by Sunday evening.

This comes as topical Storm Ana is threatening to push dangerous surf and drenching rains up against the Southeast coast as it made its appearance weeks ahead of the official start of the Atlantic hurricane season.
