N2billion Mansion a threat to Aso villa
Nigerian politicians. .... hmmmm, just read this article and see the mansion for yourself.
A N2 billion mansion overlooking the Presidential Villa is currently giving the countrys security apparatus sleepless nights as a result of its security implications for the seat of power. The mansion, according to , was just completed by an unnamed outgoing governor from the North. It is said to be built at an elevated point within the precincts of the Villa, making the presidents official residence prone to possible espionage from the outgoing governors comfort zone. It was not clear if the governor would be asked to remodel the new residence, be subjected to an undertaking or be placed on surveillance. Investigations by the newspaper revealed that the governor had acquired the choice plot, said to be worth over N1 billion, in anticipation that he might play a key role if President Goodluck Jonathan was re-elected. Further to this plan, the governor had planned his life outside office such that he would be just a stone throw from the seat of power. However, his dream crashed following the defeat President Jonathan suffered in the hands of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.). Findings, however, revealed that the new mansion of the governor had been a source of security concern even before the general elections. According to a top source who spoke in confidence, the mansion was erected on an elevated level that gives a view of movement in and out of the Presidential Villa. The source added: The over N2 billion posh residence poses a security worry because with sophisticated equipment, the governor, as from May 29, can conduct some surveillance on the Villa depending on his political leaning or mischief. No one is comfortable with this development. Based on security audit, the elevation of the mansion is not good for the Presidential Villa. If the governor compromises after leaving office, the residence can be used for espionage or any other challenge. Another source however said: I think the governor wanted to be a nominee for the Vice Presidential ticket but lost out to Vice President Namadi Sambo during the intrigues. It was in line with his target that he opted for a house near the Villa. I think there are three options available to the governor. These are: to remodel or reconfigure the house, be subjected to a security undertaking or be placed on permanent surveillance. It was also learnt that the governor had explained that the land was rocky reason it appeared the elevation is a bit higher. The house was built with the best of intention and not for any political or pecuniary gains. The Villa itself presents a scenery of an undulating landscape. Take a look at the Presidential Villas neighbourhood, many ex-governors, permanent secretaries, senators and others have houses there, another impeccable source added. At press time, it was gathered that the governor might be probed by anti-graft agencies on the billion-naira mansion at a time it was difficult for his state to pay some entitlements of workers, who have retired from public service. An anti-graft source said: The house is worth over N2 billion. The governor might be investigated after May 29 when he will no longer enjoy immunity from trial.

Chris Brown battle over his daughter
Chris Brown is real upset he's not getting credit where it matters ... on his daughter's birth certificate.
Sources connected to Brown tell us, he found out recently the "father" on baby Royalty's birth certificate is listed as Brazil Riesling, aka King Ba.
TMZ broke the story, 8 months after Royalty was born,DNA tests revealed Chris was the papa.
He's trying to establish a relationship with his daughter -- even trying to get baby mama Nia Guzman to move to L.A. -- but his efforts have been thwarted by Ba, who still considers himself the dad. Ba, who is still with Nia, has been taunting Chris with pics of himself and the baby.
Chris now has his lawyer in the act, negotiating with Nia and Ba to change the birth certificate to list him as the biological father. If push comes to shove, it will end up before a judge.

A 25yr old woman, gave birth to a baby in her office and suffocated it with a plastic bag
All by herself, she delivered the baby in her office toilet before quietly returning to her desk with the newborn baby wrapped in two sealed bags, and put it in her desk drawer.
Kim Pappas, 25, was two hours into her working day at Ceva Logistics in Wyandotte, Michigan, on March 31 when she disappeared to the bathroom to deliver the boy - and cut the umbilical cord with cuticle scissors.

Officials confirmed that 758 people have died, with 181 people killed in the capital, as rescue teams continue to search for survivors who are feared to be trapped under the rubble. Home Ministry official Laxmi Dhakal warned the death toll is almost certain to rise.

New York's statue of liberty reopens today
NEW YORK (AP) — A bomb threat made by an anonymous 911 caller forced the evacuation of hundreds of tourists Friday from the Statue of Liberty, but a thorough sweep of the landmark by investigators turned up no explosives.
The caller made the threat late Friday morning, "stating they were going to blow up the Statue of Liberty," the National Park Service said in a statement.
Federal police, including two canine units, investigated and the dogs found "an area of interest" in a locker area at the statue's base, the agency said. Law enforcement then decided to evacuate the island as a precaution.
Nothing harmful was found in the lockers, according to New York Police Department spokesman Steve Davis. But the NYPD bomb squad and federal authorities continued sweeping the area for much of Friday afternoon as a precaution, he added.
Statue Cruises, which operates the ferries that carry tourists to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, said it safely evacuated 2,700 people from the island. It offered them refunds and help getting back any items left behind.
Service to the island was to resume Saturday morning.
John Blount, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, was in the statue's crown, chatting with a park ranger.
"All of a sudden he got a call on his phone," Blount said. "He said, 'OK', looked up and said, 'It's time to leave.' We had just made it up there."
He said it was a very calm evacuation down. They got on a boat, and "we were just floating around out there for the past hour and a half."
His wife's purse was in a locker; they had to leave without reclaiming it.
Eric Gustafson, of Worchester, Massachusetts, was on Liberty Island with his wife and son. They were about to enter the building for the tour when park rangers ushered everyone to the flagpole and then told them they had to leave.
"They didn't give us a reason for it. The communication was lacking," he said. About 90 minutes later, they were back in Manhattan.
They later saw Twitter accounts about a suspicious package.
"We weren't nervous. It was mostly just frustrating," Gustafson said, adding that the evacuation was very orderly.
Other tourists said they were taken off boats while trying to leave nearby Ellis Island, and those vessels then were used to evacuate Liberty Island.
Karen Mason, 68, of Cincinnati, Ohio, said they had just boarded a boat at Ellis Island when "all of a sudden, they said, 'Disembark, disembark, disembark. We have to evacuate the boat.'"
She said she didn't feel like she was in any danger. "But we saw helicopters and we knew something was going on," she said.

Two Gay men stoned to death by ISIS
Depraved militants fighting for the Islamic State in Syria have brutally stoned two gay men to death only seconds after they were photographed embracing and 'forgiving' them.
The shocking images were taken in ISIS-held territory in the province of Homs and show the two accused men being savagely executed by up to four jihadis.
Huge, bloodthirsty crowds are seen in the desert clearing where the group of executioners made a display of hugging the blindfolded couple and telling them they were forgiven of their 'sins', before pummeling them to death with hundreds of fist-sized rocks.

Touching vigil held for the migrants who lost their lives in sea
Two moving candle-lit vigils have been held to remember the 900 migrants who died when their boat capsized en route to Europe from Libya this weekend.
As people lay candles by the sea in Valetta, Malta, an equally emotional memorial service was
taking place in front of Rome's Verano Cemetery.
The deadliest migrant tragedy on the Mediterranean so far took this year's death toll on the waters to a staggering 1,800.
It came as three other people - including a tiny child - died when a rickety wooden boat ran aground on the Greek island of Rhodes.
And the relentless tide of migrants escaping the war-torn country of Libya has continued since the tragic wreck this weekend.
The UN said that 23,500 migrants had sailed to Italy this year in addition to 12,000 who had sailed to Greece.
But an emergency meeting of EU leaders in Brussels today will announce that only 5,000 refugees who survive the perilous journey will be granted safe haven in Europe and the rest will be sent back, the Guardian has reported.

NNPC refunding $1.48bn to federation account
Article by: OLALEKAN ADETAYO,
The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, on Wednesday disclosed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has started refunding $1.48bn into the Federation Account as recommended by an audit firm, PriceWaterHouse Coopers.
She however did not disclose how much has so far been refunded by the corporation.
She also denied reports that she was seeking the assistance of some highly-placed persons in other to get soft landing from the incoming administration of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
Alison-Madueke spoke with State House correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
It will be recalled that the Federation Account Allocation Committee on Monday night constituted a committee to find out the reasons for the delay in the refund of the sum.
PriceWaterHouse Coopers had in its forensic audit report of the corporation recommended that the NNPC should refund the amount to the Federation Account.
The firm was last year hired to carry out the audit following an allegation by the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, that $20bn was not remitted to the Federation Account by the NNPC.
PWC had stated in the report that while the total gross revenue generated from crude oil lifting was $69.34bn between January 2012 and July 2013 and not $67bn as earlier stated by the Senate Reconciliation Committee, what was remitted to the Federation Account was $50.81bn and not $47bn.
The audit report revealed that $28.22bn was the value of domestic crude oil allocated to the NNPC, adding that total amount spent on subsidy for Premium Motor Spirit was $5.32bn.
Alison-Madueke however explained that the unremitted fund was owed by NPDC for a block that had been assigned from NNPC to NPDC.
She said, “The PriceWaterHouse Coopers forensic audit that was done a few weeks ago, in its recommendation mentioned that $1.48bn was owed by NPDC for a block that had hitherto been assigned from the NNPC to NPDC which is its subsidiary.
“They felt that the right process would be that NPDC will refund that money to the Federation Account. NPDC has apparently started those refunds and it is also in discussion with NNPC and DPR on same. So the refund has actually begun.”
While saying that the payment was being done under her directives, she insisted that the sum was not missing but transferred by the NNPC to NPDC which is a subsidiary.

Inspector general of police sacked
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, yesterday, became the first major casualty of the just concluded general elections, which President Goodluck Jonathan and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, lost to the opposition.
The police officer, who was elevated to the post only last year, incurred the wrath of the Presidency on the eve of the governorship and House of Assembly elections for allegedly arguing with the government officials over the directive to recall the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in Charge of Zone 6, Tunde Ogunshakin, from Rivers State.
Abba, Vanguard reports, had deployed Ogunshakin from his base in Calabar to Port Harcourt to
oversee the governorship election in Rivers State following complaints by Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, that the police had collaborated with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the PDP to intimidate APC members and rig the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
His refusal to pick calls over Ogunshakins recall
Another source said the former police boss reportedly ignored presidency officials objection to the deployment of Ogunshakin to Rivers State on the allegation that the police officer was sympathetic to Amaechi and his party and would, therefore, not allow the PDP win the state.
