A British woman on the verge of loosing her husband on the ground of deportation

According to a report by UK Mirror, a heavily pregnant British woman named Robyn Daodu has started an online petition to stop her Nigerian Olympic boxer husband from being deported from the UK after he was turned down by the British Army.

Adedayo Victor Daodu came to the UK for the London 2012 Games as a member of the Nigerian boxing squad and decided to stay. The 25-year-old was locked up last week at Dungavel immigration removal centre in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, and told he faces being returned to Lagos.


 Before the 2012 Olympics, Victor signed up for the British Army. After returning to his homeland, he was sent a letter inviting him to return to the UK for recruitment.

After claiming to have passed written and physical tests, he applied to extend his visa so he could stay in Britain before enlisting. The couple moved to Salford in July 2013.


But Victor was soon told that due to new guidelines, his application to join the Army had been refused.

Robyn and Victor applied for asylum in a bid to stay together and claim they were told by the Home Office they could get married pending the application.
They assumed Victor’s UK residency would not be a problem.

After marrying in April last year, his asylum claim was refused in three months later.
The couple say the Home Office, in a letter to their solicitors, have told them they should move to Nigeria.
Robyn says they have spent £4,000 in legal fees after a number of failed appeals. Victor was most recently refused leave to stay in March.
In April, he spent two weeks in the immigration centre, but was released after an appeal.

Oldham East and Saddleworth MP, Debbie Abrahams, was able to help get Victor released from the centre last Thursday.
The couple are now awaiting a reply to another appeal.
Immigration rules mean that anyone applying for a visa as the spouse of a British
 citizen had to have the legal right to be here for at least the next six months when they got married.
They also have to be able to prove they can support themselves financially.
Robyn, 27, who lives with Victor in Oldham, said: “It took the army a year to tell him he couldn’t join.
“The Home Office should have told him he couldn’t stay a long time ago if that’s what was always going to happen.
"I don’t understand why they’ve only started detaining him now after we’ve set up a life, got married and I’ve become pregnant.
“The communication just hasn’t been there.
"The stress is unbearable. None of this would have happened if not for the army’s slowness in letting Victor know about the change in the acceptance rules.
“I need him and his unborn child needs him.”
Victor said: “I just want to stay here and do what’s right for my baby and Robyn.”
The Home Office said it did not comment on individual cases.

Nigeria billionaire Aliko Dangote promise 24hr electricity to lagosians

Also, we are building the largest fertilizer plant of two to three million tonnes of Uranium and Amonia also in the Lekki Free Trade Zone and assure him that we are going to do a Gas Pipeline from Bonny to under the sea, in which when we finish, Lagos state will never ever experience blackout, there would be electricity 24 hours a day.

Students Lovers found dead after making love

Two students, a male and female of a University in Anambra State (names withheld), have reportedly died in a hostel room located near the school.
The female student is from Imo State. She visited her male boyfriend and they went in together on Saturday but never woke up until their doors were forced open by the police after a neighbor raised the alarm.

The male student was 300level student of public administration.
They allegedly died after s*x romp and their neighbors never knew until their bodies started decomposing.
The guy allegedly drugged the girl to have access to free s*x which resulted to her death and he equally took the pills and lay beside her.
Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) from Awkuzu removed both bodies and deposited then at an undisclosed morgue.

They are believed to be part of a group of 10 people who stripped naked before taking photos at the peak of Mount Kinabalu on May 30 – an act which a senior minister in Malaysia has blamed for causing an earthquake that killed 18 climbers last week.


Miss Hawkins, a 23-year-old Southampton University graduate from Derby, was detained on Tuesday at Tawau airport as she was flying from the island of Borneo to the capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Her father, Timothy Hawkins said last night: ‘We spoke to her this morning. She’s okay, she’s very scared, she’s very upset. She’s been arrested. It’s not a situation she’s been in before so it’s not good.
‘We’ve talked to the consulate and arranged a lawyer.’


Mr Hawkins, who runs a mechanical engineering business, said his daughter is ‘obviously in the photos’ but he did not want the situation to be ‘blown out of all proportion’.
‘It’s fair enough to charge for the misdemeanour committed,’ he said. ‘What we don’t want is her lumbered with further charges.’

After a 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit the 13,400ft-high mountain on Friday, Sabah deputy chief minister Joseph Pairin Kitingan blamed the tragedy on the tourists for showing ‘disrespect to the sacred mountain’ by posing naked at the peak.

He has said a special ritual will be conducted to ‘appease the mountain spirit’ after 18 people were killed in the disaster.

Breaking news: Security threats at the White House Capitol Hill

WASHIONTON(AP) — Secret Service agents interrupted a live, televised White House press briefing Tuesday to evacuate journalists after a bomb threat was called in to police. No bomb was found, the Secret Service said.

President Barack Obama and other officials remained in the building during the evacuation, which only affected the James S. Brady Briefing Room. White House press secretary Josh Earnest, who was briefing reporters at the time of the evacuation, said later that Obama was never in any danger.

The evacuation came after a bomb threat related to the White House briefing room was phoned in to local Washington police, Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary said. Roughly 20 minutes later, uniformed Secret Service officers on the scene said an all-clear had been issued, and journalists were later allowed back into the White House, where the daily press briefing resumed.

Evacuations at the White House are rare, but not unprecedented. Last year, journalists and officials were temporarily evacuated after a fence-jumper made it inside the White House.

Yet Tuesday's incident was made more dramatic by the fact that it took place on camera during a live press briefing — the first such instance since the White House started allowing live television coverage of full press briefings in the 1990s.

Teenager bled to death after taking abortion pills

 A 20-year-old Sodiq Sulaimon confirmed he gave 2 tablets to his pregnant 15-year old girlfriend to terminate the growing foetus, but the end was deadly, as the teenage girl bled to death shortly afterwards.

Now, Sodiq is behind bars facing the consequences of his inhuman actions.

Yesterday, June 4, the accused appeared before an Ikeja High Court on one-count charge of manslaughter brought against him by Lagos State Government, for which he pleaded not guilty.


“Sodiq Sulaimon, on or before December 11, 2012, about 4p.m., at 7 Oriokuta Street, Imota, Ikorodu Lagos, in the Ikeja Judicial Division, did unlawfully kill the girl (names withheld) by procuring abortion for her,” the charge stated.

At the resumed hearing, a witness, Sergeant Elizabeth Osikanlu, told the presiding judge, Justice K. A. Jose, that the matter was referred to her after one Femi Adegboyega came to the station to report that the defendant impregnated his niece and gave her drugs to abort a five-month-old pregnancy.

According to her, the defendant admitted having sexual intercourse with the deceased sometime in October 2012 and giving her two tablets to prevent pregnancy.

Federal Government of Nigeria ban Local Gin

The Federal government has officially banned the consumption of local gin popularly known as Ogogoro, following reports of the deaths of quite a number of people after consuming the alcoholic drink.

Worthy of note is the incident in Ondo state in which many people died after developing a strange ailment after consuming the local gin contaminated with methanol.

The DG of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhii announced the ban yesterday.

He added that 38 persons have died from consuming contaminated local gin in Rivers state recently.
